Sep 20,  · The tours () from this era with the 'Jitters' resulted in some great performances. I wish an expanded edition of the Crosby Nash Live LP would be explored by Nash. Or alternatively an expanded 'Whistling' with live cuts and outtakes. Quality record, almost acts as a Volume II to Wind on the Water. Time After Time is a special song for me.

Whistling Down the Wire would be David Crosby and Graham Nash's last album for the next plus years. CS&N's reunion in had something to do with this -- Crosby's drug addiction also did. Quite simply, he was in awful shape and only getting worse. The album suffers as a result.

Released in , "Whistling Down The Wire" is the third proper album from the duo pairing of David Crosby and Graham Nash--it's very much of a piece with 's "Wind On The Water"--and you can't go wrong with it if you love these guys.

Because the songs are relatively quieter the distinctive Crosby-Nash vocal blend stands out more. If Wind on the Water rates 5 stars I would give Whistling Down the Wire 4 1/2. My only criticism is that last cut on the album, Out of the Darkness seems a bit forced to me - it doesn't quite ring true.4/5(39).

After failing to complete an album, Crosby and Nash signed a contract with ABC Records. Presumably for contractual obligations to their old label, the cassette and 8-track tape versions of their ABC LPs were issued by Atlantic. Recording activity yielded Wind on the Water () and Whistling Down the Wire .
