    The Nips (short for The Nipple Erectors) were a British punk rock band formed in The Arsenal, London in and notable as Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan's first musical group.     Pictured here is an acetate 7" for the "All The Time In The World" single. There are probably acetates for all the singles and LPs, but they are very rare. Usually 5 or less are made. Test pressings might also exist for any of the 7" singles and LPs, although the only one I have seen is for "Gabrielle" (see above).

    Following the release of their first single, "King of the Bop"/"Nervous Wreck", in June , on Soho Records, the band renamed themselves The Nips and released the garage punk song "All The Time in the World"/"Private Eye" with Phil Rowland of Eater on drums. By May , the band's line up had changed to include Gavin "Fritz" Douglas, on guitar.

    All the contributing artists played a part in the musical history of the times: The New York Dolls, Jonathan Richman, The Ramones, Ian Dury, Sham 69, The Damned, Iggy Pop and The Dickies also deserve a mention. The music has aged remarkably well and there is still that punky sense of urgency that I remember so well from my youth/5(12).
